Wyatt Update

Today we went to the Dr. for Wyatt's 2 month check-up and shots. He did really well getting his shots, better than I expected. After talking with the Dr. about his reflux, she went ahead and prescribed Zantac for him. I'm not super excited about him being on a medicine like that while he is so little, but I am hopeful that it will help our lil guy feel better. He weighed 13 lbs and is 24 1/2 in. long. He was in the 75th % for weight and 90% for height, so he is growing just perfectly!
Our weekend road trip was a success! (the drive home was alittle rough, but I think he was just getting tired of his car seat) We had a great time visiting with Stephen and Amy and enjoyed being away foe a couple of days. Saturday, Aaron and Stephen got to catch a movie while Amy and I hit the outlet mall with Wyatt. Saturday night Aaron and I got to go to dinner and a show while Stephen and Amy kept Wyatt. Sunday we all went to lunch at the Landing, then we headed back home.

2 Months

Mr. Wyatt turned 2 months old this past Friday! It has been so fun to see how much he has changed. He is grinning and making the cute baby sounds alot more now. It melts our hearts to see him grin! He has also gotten into a better sleeping pattern and is only waking up once in the middle of the night to eat (and again at like 5:00, but at our house that's considered "morning time"!) We're still dealing with the reflux, but the rice cereal in his formula has seemed to help alot. We go back to the Dr. next week, so we'll see what they say.... Last week we went to Ada to have 2 month pictures taken. Annie and her son Jay also came. The boys are 4 months apart and we "attempted" to get some pictures of them together. Not sure how they will turn out, but we sure got a good laugh out of seeing them together! I can't wait until they are older enough to play. I'm sure some day they'll thank us for dressing them up alike and making them take pics together :)
This weekend we are off on our first family "mini" vacation. Aaron is going to start grad school this fall at OSU! Yep, that's right O-S-U!!! My family had such a good influence on him ;) Anyways, we are going to Stillwater Friday morning so Aaron can meet his advisor, visit around campus and Aaron and Wyatt can have their first official trip to Eskimo Joes! After our stop in Stillwater, we're Branson bound to visit Aunt Amy and Uncle Stephen. I hope to do some shopping at the outlet mall and Saturday night Stephen and Amy are going to practice their babysitting skills (they have been soo great to us!) while Aaron and I go to a show. We are looking forward to a fun weekend get away! I'm sure I'll have some great pics to post later.

This one's for the girls!

This post is dedicated completely to my friends (don't worry, there will be more Wyatt posts soon!) After going to a cookout last night at one of my best friends house, I was reminded of just how lucky I am to have the friends that I do. From early elementary school to becoming a working adult, I've been blessed with some amazing women in my life. It's great to have people that I can depend on in any situation and that I can talk to about anything. To all of you- you are amazing!

I've especially been blessed with having 5 girls that have been there through my crazy college days, moving away for my first job, marrying my soul mate and having my first child. These girls are more than I could have ever asked for. Annie, Alicia, Jacobi, Tiffany and Stacey.... You have been a true God-send to me! I looked through old photo albums this morning and almost cried! We have had some amazing times! Hanging out in the dorms, Spring Break Road Trips, Formals, Exchanges, lake trips, our own apartments- the list could go on and on! We have all been through so much together. It's hard to believe that we all have "grown up" jobs, are married and some of us are mommy's! (Who would have ever pictured me and Annie pushing strollers through the mall and getting excited over how much we saved with our coupons on formula and diapers! haha...) I love that we have been able to be a part of all of these important events in each others lives. No matter how long we go without seeing each other, it's like we pick up right where we left off when we get together. I love you girls and am so grateful to have you in my life!

Poor baby :(

As some of you know, we had to put Wyatt on formula several weeks ago. Since then, our pleasant little guy just hasn't been the same. He is extremely fussy (even sometimes when eating), constantly congested, cries like he is pain, arches his back and jerks around while he eats- it's terrible and breaking our hearts to see him like this. Originally, we thought it was the kind of formula, so we switched to one that has less lactose and is supposedly easier to digest, still nothing... I called the pediatrician and they recommended trying a Soy based formula. After doing that for almost week, still nothing changed. So this morning I called and got an apt. The Dr. was booked, but we saw the nurse practitioner. She confirmed what we had started to suspect, infant reflux. The poor little guy has been having the "burning" feeling from the reflux. For now, she wants us to try putting rice cereal in his bottles. This will thicken the formula and hopefully help to keep it down. We're also keeping him in a more upright position when feeding him and then keeping him propped up after he eats. If this doesn't help, we'll have to put him on medicine, like Zantac :(
On a happier note, we had a fun 4th of July weekend at Mom and Dad's. Stephen and Amy were able to come and stay the weekend too and it is always nice to get to spend time with them. They were also helpful babysitters, as Aaron and I went to Ada for one of my best friends weddings. Here are a few pics...
