Snow Days

It's Sunday morning and I officially have not left the house since I got home from work on Wednesday! Wow! Although cabin fever is beginning to set in, I have had so much fun with my little man. Aaron had to work Thursday and Friday, so it was just the two of us. He is into EVERYTHING now, so I've been trying to keep up with him. He's really started pulling up on things too. We even had to lower his crib this morning.

I think that we may try to venture out today. It didn't get near as bad here as expected. We never lost our electricity (thank you Lord!) and ended up with alot more snow than ice. I went out and measured just over 5 inches when it stopped. It is really pretty outside now. Aaron and I both have family members who are still without electricity though and we are praying for them and that they get their power back soon.

Ready or Not- Here I Come!

Yesterday Wyatt decided he was ready to go! He's been wanting to crawl now for so long and he gradually figured it out. It has been so fun to watch his progress along the way. This past week he worked so hard at getting his right hand to move, but the left just wasn't ready. Then all of a sudden Sunday morning, it just came together :) We're already realizing that we've got some work to do around here. We've "baby proofed" some things, but there are still things to be done. We are also going to have to be a lot more conscious of where we leave things laying around. I am so excited to see my little guy growing and having these big milestones, but I must say, it is a little bittersweet. He's growing so fast!

Some other Wyatt news--- Poor guy is home sick today :( Although, you'd never know it by his happy mood- thank heaven! This weekend, his poor little eyes started getting "gooey" (for lack of a better word). By this morning, he could barely open one of them because it was swollen and almost matted shut. So, we headed bright and early to see his pediatrician, who thankfully offers a walk- in time from 7-8, as long as your one of the first 14 people there. She said that he does have a form of pink eye and a mild ear infection (which probably caused the pink eye). Poor guy can't catch a break! I didn't post it, but two weeks ago we had to take him in for an ear infection and he had to take an antibiotic for it. So now, we're on ear infection #3. One more this winter and we'll most likely have to think about having tubes put in :( I DREAD that, but I HATE seeing my little guy like this. Here we go again with another round of antibiotics. Say a prayer that this clears up quickly!

Eight, already?!

Lil man turned 8 months old yesterday! It feels like I was just putting up his 7 month post... Time is going by so fast. He is so funny these days. He loves to laugh and we have such a great time getting him to giggle. We just couldn't resist dressing him up in his camo gear for a picture. I'm pretty sure it made his daddy very excited for all the hunting/fishing trips that are to come :)

Grateful

As I sit here in tears after reading a blog about a terminally sick baby, all I can do is think how blessed I am. I have a healthy baby boy who is snuggled up with his daddy snoozing in the recliner. How often do I take this for granted?? It's so easy to get caught up in the negative things in life (work, bills, cleaning, ect.) and to overlook the amazing gifts God has given us. I am BLESSED. I have a husband who works hard for our little family, a baby boy who bring unmeasurable joy to my life, an amazing family, great friends, a wonderful job and coworkers, a nice house and the list could go on. I say this not to sound like I'm boasting or saying things are perfect, because they aren't. I say this as a reminder to myself. On those days when I don't want to get up and when I whine because things aren't exactly how I want them to be, I need to stop and realize how good I have it. I need to be more grateful for what I have, because what I have is WONDERFUL!
Tonight- I will hug my boys a little tighter, say a prayer of thanks and also a prayer for God's grace on this family who is going through a difficult journey.

Happy 2010!

I can't believe that 2009 is already over... (Yes, I realize I'm a little behind on this post) What a year it was! We started out the year as family of two. Just a married couple expecting their first baby and clueless of all the changes that were going to take place. Before we knew it, Wyatt was here and our lives have been forever changed in an amazing way. 2009 is the year we became parents and a year I will always remember. So... this year began as a family of 3. A family of three that rang in the new year nicely tucked in bed before 10:30! Ha! We are beyond excited for all of the milestones that 2010 will hold for our little guy and all of the fun that we're going to have. So... goodbye 2009! You were a great year!

We were able to spend the New Year holiday in Branson with Stephen and his family. It was a great time to get away, have some quality family time with the babies and of course, do some shopping at the outlet mall ;) We also celebrated a late Christmas with them. The trip home turned out to be interesting, as a small snow storm decided to come in the night before we headed home. If you've ever been to Branson, you know that it is full of winding hills. Once we finally made it out of their neighborhood, through Branson and onto the highway; our trip wasn't too bad. We just had to go a little slow at first. We finally made it home and this week it's been back to reality for us.... Here's a glimpse at our little trip :)

The snow was sooo pretty!
