A Little Get Away

I'm alittle behind on my blogging.... Guess I'm having too much fun hanging out with Wyatt this summer! Over Father's Day weekend we were able to head to Branson for a mini family vacation. We stayed at a nice condo that was right on Taneycomo and had a great pool area and golf course. The guys got to go fishing and golfing and the girls got to hit up the outlet mall, but the best part was getting to enjoy each other! We got to spend alot of time just relaxing and playing with the babies :) It was the perfect little get away...

Fun in the sprinkler!

Annie and her sweet little Jay came over and spent an afternoon with us and we had a lot of fun. We took the boys outside and ended up turning on this fun sprinkler that Wyatt got for his Birthday. They were so funny to watch!

Peace of Mind

As most everyone knows, on May 10th a terrible tornado went through our area. Where were we?? Huddled in a small coat closet (that is right by our front door!). We don't have a good center room or place to go, so that was as good as it got. We also had lost power, so the only means of listening to any weather we had was my dear friend Annie staying on the phone with me. We really weren't sure when to get out or exactly where it was, but they kept talking about the Loves at I-40 and Choctaw Rd. and we knew that meant it was headed our way. Scary and not a situation I want to be in ever again. Thankfully, it missed us. We literally had no idea just how close the tornado had come or how bad it really was until the next day when we could finally drive around. The roads had been closed the night before and getting anywhere outside of our neighborhood was hard. I wish I could put into words just how bad it was. If you live close, then you've seen it. Houses gone, trees uprooted, power lines down and debris everywhere. These people literally lost everything, but by the grace of God, made it through alive. It only took Aaron and I seeing this devastation, about a mile from our house, one time to decide that we were getting a cellar put in! We got some quotes, which happened to be less than we expected, and set a date. So, yesterday we became the proud owners of a storm cellar. It gives us great peace of mind knowing that next time we can walk into our backyard and be safe! It was actually pretty neat to watch the process of it being installed and Wyatt LOVED watching the backhoe.

Before...

Wyatt was in awe of the digging! And yes, he's still in his jammies :)

Tah-Dah! The completed cellar

Memorial Day Weekend

This year we spent Memorial Day weekend at Mom and Dad's house. Aaron couldn't wait to get there and "get to work". He LOVES helping my Dad at his land and some quality fishing time is always a nice bonus :)

On Saturday night, we took Wyatt to Kiddie Land. Anyone from around Duncan knows all about Kiddie Land! I grew up going as a kid and was excited for Wyatt's 1st trip, but he wasn't too crazy about it this time. He did however enjoy the snowcone afterwards!

Wyatt also got to take his first ride on Papa Joes 4-wheeler. He seemed to like it alot and Daddy is already talking about how we need to get Wyatt one of his own :)

Food and Fun!

Wyatt's school had a fundraiser night at Chuck-E-Cheese, so we loaded up and headed for our very 1st trip to the fun pizza place. (Not only was it's Wyatt's first time, but Aaron and I neither one had ever been. I'm pretty sure we had as much fun as Wyatt playing games too!) We had such a great time and are looking foward to many more visits.
Ready to dig into the pizza- he ate it as fast as we could cut it up!

Driving the car

He wasn't so sure about this game

He LOVED this horse and probably would have been content
to just ride this same one over and over :)
