Bath Time!

Today our lil guy is 4 weeks old! Hard to believe that in a couple of days he'll be one month old! We've learned that one of his favorite things is bath time. He seems soo relaxed and pleasant during his baths and he is just too cute in his little tub and those adorable hooded towels :)
(We seem to have a hard time capturing his best faces in pics, but here are a couple to share)

My whole world....

It's officially happened... I believe all of those things that my mom used to tell me. You know, like when your parents would say "someday you'll understand when you have kids of your own". Yep, it's true. I now know what it's like to worry about someone every second of the day, to want to make sure that he's happy all the time, to want to take away any hurt that he has , to want to make sure that he knows how much his mommy loves him and so on. He truly has become my whole world. I really couldn't have imagined how much I would love this lil guy and of course, I wouldn't trade it for anything!

** Update to the last post- We finally broke down and bought a bassinet. And... it's worked pretty well so far! We're spending much less time sleeping in the recliner. We're still not sure what he had against the Pack and Play, but he seems to like the bassinet. I'm sure it helps that it rocks and vibrates. Also, we went for his 1st pediatrician apt. last week and she said he looks great! He weighed 7lbs 13 ozs and was 20 1/2 in. long. He's a growing boy :)

2 Wonderful Weeks

We can't believe it's already been 2 weeks since Wyatt was born! We've stayed busy visiting with family and friends and getting used to all that life with a newborn brings. We're getting in somewhat of a routine, but we're still struggling a bit with sleeping at night. He's a great sleeper, however he does not like to sleep in his Pack and Play that's in our room :( So, we've spent alot of time sleeping in our recliners. We're working on it, so you might say an extra prayer for us as we try to break this habit!
Aaron went back to work this past Tuesday... boo... So my amazing mom came and spent 3 days with me. She helped me get the house cleaned and I even managed to sneak in a couple of extra naps! (What would I do without her?!?) We went on our first outing while she was here too. We went to my school to visit some of the staff that is still working. Wyatt did greatand everyone loved him! It was good practice for me on loading up and making it out of the house with everything that I need. Friday was my first full day home alone with our lil man and we had a great day. Everything went just fine! Today was our first family adventure out. We took Wyatt this morning to get some newborn pictures taken. It ended up taking way longer than planned, but he was a trooper and hung in there well. We even managed to go to a real restaurant and sit down and eat a meal together! haha.... It was a nice day :)

2 weeks old today (this pacifier is huge, but he loves it!)

Home.Sweet.Home

1 week old today...

Sleepy boys....

Wyatt's new buddy Jay

This past Wed. we got to bring Wyatt to his new home. We were so ready to be out of the hospital! He has done great so far and we have been very fortunate to have plenty of family here to help us survive :)  They've been great at cooking, cleaning and giving Aaron and I time to rest.
Wyatt is such an amazing addition to our lives and I can only imagine all that the future holds for our little family. I stare at him and think "How did I get so lucky?"  Life is truly wonderful and I'm going to do my best to cherish every minute (even those frustrating nights!) because I know that time will fly by so fast.....

He's Here!

Wyatt is here! He blessed us by entering the world on Sunday, May 17th. I went into labor early Sunday morning and we headed to the hospital around 8:00 am. After we got there, we found out that he was breech and I would have to have a C-section. Before we knew it, we were back in the delivery room and ready to go. Wyatt was born at 11:31 and both of our parents were lucky enough to make it to the hospital in time. He is a healthy baby, weighing 7lbs and measuring 19 1/2 in. long. He is perfect :)
Word cannot even begin to describe how I feel about this little guy.... Being a mom and dad is truly the BEST thing in the world! More posts and pics to come later, but for now- I have a lil guy to go love on!

38 Weeks.

Yesterday, we hit the 38 week mark. I can't believe it, we are soo close and soo anxious! Don't get me wrong, being pregnant has been an amazing experience. Some days I can't even remember what it was like to not be pregnant. ha! Knowing what is going on inside my body and being able to feel Wyatt move and kick is just amazing, a blessing beyond words. But now, I'm ready. I'm ready to meet our little miracle... I'm ready to hold him in my arms... I'm ready to watch Aaron become a Dad... I'm ready to sleep on my stomach again.... I'm ready to have more than 2 pairs of shoes that I can actually wear.... I'm ready to not have to go to the bathroom every 30 minutes.... I'm just ready.
So- as the days get closer, we'll be patiently waiting and I know that he will come on his own time, when HE is ready :)

So many Gifts!!!

We had our last two showers this past week, one at my school and the other in Aaron's hometown. They were both amazing! We got SO much stuff. We spent this morning in the nursery putting away gifts and cute lil, clean baby laundry. We're pretty sure that Wyatt already has more clothes than us :) We have been totally blown away by the generosity of all the people in our lives. We are truly blessed!

We're at the 37 wk mark, which means that baby Wyatt should now be fully developed! So exciting!! After giving it ALOT of thought, I've decided for May 11th to be my last day at school, so hopefully Wyatt will decide to wait until after then so that I can have some time at home to rest and prepare. My next apt. is Tuesday, so we'll see what they say!
