Where to begin? Our Christmas (along with most Oklahomans) was anything but normal or expected. Our plan was to go to Snyder on the 23rd, come home the evening of the 24th and have our little family Christmas and Santa gifts in the morning. Then, mom and dad were supposed to come up on Christmas day and open gifts and help us get ready for the Zinn Christmas at our house on Saturday. However, the Blizzard of 2009 had other plans... Instead, we made it to Snyder and ended up being stuck there. Aaron's mom lost power so we had to load up and head into town to stay at his Grandma's (small) house for the next day and night. We were alittle sad, but glad to not be stuck somewhere on the road. On Christmas day we headed home on the snow covered, but not too bad roads. It was crazy to see all of the wrecked and abandoned cars all over the interstate. After 4 hours, we made it home. We had to come in our back door, bc our front door was blocked by the snow. I had enough time to get a roast in the crock pot, put away some things and then we had our family Christmas and ate and opened gifts; just the three of us :) Saturday's plan changed to everyone going to my Mee-Maws instead of our house. We didn't originally plan on making the drive, but decided to surprise Mom and Dad and showed up! I was so glad we did, bc I was beginning to think I wasn't going to see my family at all. Aaron headed home that evening and Wyatt and I stayed with Mom and Dad so that we could ride to Ada for the Hobson Christmas the next day. Aaron ended up getting off work early and was able to join us for a nice get together. So, that's how our Christmas played out. Now, I'm enjoying some time at home with our little guy.

Super Seven
This past month has been a very eventful one. You have had alot "firsts" and it seems like it has flown by! Here are 7 of your big happenings during your 7th month.....
1.) You celebrated your very 1st Thanksgiving with a lot of great family time.
2.) You went to Daycare for the 1st time and are doing great. It seems to be a good fit for us right now.
3.) Santa Claus! You got to have your very 1st picture taken with Santa and it made us so excited for all the Christmas' that are to come.
4.) Your first two little teeth came in. This made you a bit fussy and caused a low temp.
5.) Poor Baby.... You got your first ear infection this month and had to go to the Dr.
6.) You can now sit up all by yourself. It's so fun to see you sitting up and playing and grabbing on to all of your toys.
7.) Crawling?!? Okay, so your not really crawling yet, but you are trying so hard and can get up on your hands and knees and rock. It will be no time at all now and you'll be on the move...

Here Comes Santa Claus....
I LOVE Christmas time and this year is so much more exciting having Wyatt here to celebrate with! We headed to Bass Pro on Friday night (which happens to be one of our favorite places!) to meet Santa for the 1st time. I was a little afraid that we wouldn't get a good pic, bc he would be distracted by everything going on around him, but just look at the pic. Pretty adorable, if I might say so :)
(P.S. If you need a place to take your kiddos to see Santa, this was great! We didn't wait in line and it is FREE!)

So Thankful :)
We had a WONDERFUL Thanksgiving break. We got to spend 5 nights at my parents and my brothers family did too. It was so fun to get to spend so much time with them and their precious little girl. Thanksgiving day was spent with my mom's side of the family and then Aaron's family. On Friday, we headed to Maysville for a day with my Dad's side. We had a great time visiting with everyone and ate WAY too much yummy food :)

Gooo Pokes! (okay... so the game didn't go as we hoped, but don't we look cute?!)
These next two are part of our attempt at a photo shoot of the kiddos in their matching pj's. We decided it's near impossible to get a pic of them both looking at the camera, but we still think they look great :)

Happy Half Birthday
(No pics with this post, bc we had some professional ones taken on Tuesday- in the freezing cold weather! Stay tuned to see some of the shots.)
Little Man-
You are now half of a year old. You are changing from our tiny little baby to our busy little boy. You laugh and smile all the time and are jabbering like crazy. I guess we can officially say your first word is "dada", though you say that to me too. Maybe I'm a bit jealous ;) You want to crawl so bad and it won't be too long before you do. You roll all over the place! You are finally starting to sleep much better. You've been making it through most of the night, which is wonderful for mommy and daddy! You're also eating great these days. You have done wonderful with your baby food, except peas. I don't blame you though, I don't eat them either :)
You have made these past 6 months wonderful. I love you little man- you are a blessing beyond word!

Double Trouble!
This afternoon my great friend Annie and her little boy Jay came over. Jay is 4 months older than Wyatt and quite the little busy body these days (which was a great heads up for me on what I need to do to the house to baby proof for when Wyatt gets mobile!) The plan was to get some cute pics of the boys together in their oh so cute "Double Trouble" shirts. The boys however had plans of their own. When one was looking at the camera, the other was looking away, when one was happy, the other got sad... You get the idea. Not to mention, they get joy out of trying to grab each other's faces! It did make for some good laughs and we got a couple of cute pictures. I think in a few years we really will have Double Trouble on our hands!

Puppy Love
As most people know, Skooter was our first baby. I've had him since I was in college and he's been there with me through all my big moves. We were a little nervous to see how he would be when we brought Wyatt home, but it went just fine. I do think at first it was an adjustment for him to not get all of our attention. Now, Wyatt just loves Skooter. He watches him all the time and tries to reach and grab him- it is so cute! One day, he managed to grab Skooters face with both hands and since everything he touches goes straight to the month, that's what he tried to do with Skooters face! Skooter has been great though. Of course, there is the occasional puppy kisses on Wyatt's face :) I can't wait until he is older. I think they are going to be best buds.
I thought it was fitting to add a pic of Wyatt in his adorable puppy hooded towel. I LOVE hooded towels as it is, but this one is my favorite! It even has a little tail on the back. Thanks Nanna for the great gift :)

Yummy!
Wyatt had his 4 mth wellness checkup this week. He did wonderful and the doctor said everything looks good. He weighs 18lbs and is 27 in long- he's a growing boy... And in the biggest news, we're starting baby food! The Dr. said she recommends for formula fed babies to begin at 4 months with vegetables, so last night we tried out some green beans and well, let's just say it was HILARIOUS! He made the funniest faces and it was obvious he didn't care for them, but he did manage to get some down. We'll try again tonight and see how it goes :)
Not so sure about this stuff!!!
Wonderful Weekends
The past two weekends have been busy, but so fun! Two weekends ago Wyatt, Mom and I made the trip to Branson to visit my brother, sister-in-law and of course their adorable little girl. Amy's family was there also, so it made for a great visit. We stayed at a hotel with a pool, so Wyatt got to go for his first swim. The water was a little cold, but I think he's going to be quite the lil swimmer. This past weekend we spent Saturday in Aaron's hometown, because one of cousins got married. Wyatt did wonderful at the wedding and stayed awake through the entire reception. Sunday was a fun relaxing day at home. The weather was gorgeous so we spent most of the evening outside. We grilled and ate on the back porch, so we just pulled the jump-a-roo out and had a blast! Here are a few pics from our weekend adventures- enjoy!

Fabulous Four
Lil Man-
Yesterday you hit the 4 month mark- crazy how fast time is going by! You are at such a fun stage now. You are "talking" up a storm and laughing, it is too cute! You still have your trademark big ole grin and everyone who sees it immediately falls in love. You love your jump-a-roo and playing "super baby" with your Daddy. I love to see you two playing together. You can really grab onto things now; pretty much anything you can get your little hands on, especially mommy's hair. This has been a month of big firsts. You can now roll over and are wiggling all over the place. You also slept through the night for the first time- thank goodness :) You still have some nights where you wake up once to eat, but we do get some full 8 hour nights here and there. And the biggest news, your very fist cousin was born!
I am grateful every day for the gift of YOU! I love being your mommy more than I ever could have imagined. Seeing your precious face every day is a blessing beyond measures. I love you doodlebug!

We have a niece!
We were so excited to find out that last Friday morning, my brother and sister-in-law welcomed a new addition to their family- a beautiful little girl! Her name is Karis (which means grace in Greek) and she is absolutely adorable. Aaron and I are officially now an Aunt and Uncle! My parents, Aaron, Wyatt and I were all able to make the trip to see her this weekend. She was still in the hospital, but it was so great to get to meet her. She seems sooo tiny! It's hard for me to even remember that Wyatt was ever that small, 10 oz. smaller actually!
This is their first child (which they adopted and then are expecting another baby in early Feb.) so it was really neat to get to watch them with her. She already has them wrapped around her tiny little fingers--- just as it should be :) They are going to be amazing parents and are so deserving of this blessing. I can't wait for them to take her home and begin their journey as a family. I also can't wait until Wyatt, Karis and their next baby are older and can play together. It will be so much fun to have kids so close in age. Here are a few pics of our new little family member.....

Happy Anniversary to us!
Today Aaron and I are celebrating our 2nd anniversary. Hard to believe two years ago today we were boarding a cruise ship with 12 of our closest friends and family members to say "I do", then set sail for a fun filled adventure. It has been an amazing two years filled with more than we could have imagined. While our first year was filled with adjusting to married life, taking fun trips and fixing up the old house, this past year has been sooo very different! We bought a new house (which we're still loving!) and started our biggest journey of all- PARENTHOOD!!! It has been great, not always easy, but great. I love Aaron with all my heart and wouldn't change a thing from the past 2 years.
