Where to begin? Our Christmas (along with most Oklahomans) was anything but normal or expected. Our plan was to go to Snyder on the 23rd, come home the evening of the 24th and have our little family Christmas and Santa gifts in the morning. Then, mom and dad were supposed to come up on Christmas day and open gifts and help us get ready for the Zinn Christmas at our house on Saturday. However, the Blizzard of 2009 had other plans... Instead, we made it to Snyder and ended up being stuck there. Aaron's mom lost power so we had to load up and head into town to stay at his Grandma's (small) house for the next day and night. We were alittle sad, but glad to not be stuck somewhere on the road. On Christmas day we headed home on the snow covered, but not too bad roads. It was crazy to see all of the wrecked and abandoned cars all over the interstate. After 4 hours, we made it home. We had to come in our back door, bc our front door was blocked by the snow. I had enough time to get a roast in the crock pot, put away some things and then we had our family Christmas and ate and opened gifts; just the three of us :) Saturday's plan changed to everyone going to my Mee-Maws instead of our house. We didn't originally plan on making the drive, but decided to surprise Mom and Dad and showed up! I was so glad we did, bc I was beginning to think I wasn't going to see my family at all. Aaron headed home that evening and Wyatt and I stayed with Mom and Dad so that we could ride to Ada for the Hobson Christmas the next day. Aaron ended up getting off work early and was able to join us for a nice get together. So, that's how our Christmas played out. Now, I'm enjoying some time at home with our little guy.
