"We do not remember the days,... We remember the moments."
This cheesy little quote that is printed on wall plaques and picture frames all over the place, has taken on a whole new meaning for me. I am learning to love all of those precious little "moments". I used to be the kind that hit snooze as many times as I could and knew exactly how long I could piddle around in the mornings before I had to get ready for work. Now, I am up and at 'em and ready as fast as I can. Aaron is great in helping me, so that I can be pretty much completely ready by the time he leaves for work. This gives me time to spend with Wyatt in the mornings. He is always in such a good mood and I just love to see his smile and hang out with him. It's those moments that I look forward to every morning.... In the afternoons after I pick Wyatt up, it's just "Wyatt and Mommy" time when we get home. It doesn't matter if the house is a mess or dinner needs to be cooked, that time is just for us! Another moment I live for.... Or today, while I was driving and Aaron was in the back seat with Wyatt, I could hear them talking and cooing back and forth- Adorable and a moment I'll always remember. There are oh so many moments I could write about, but you get the point. So to anyone who reads this, my challenge to you is to find those little moments in life and cherish them :)

Adjusting
It's finally Friday and I have survived my first week back at work (well almost!). Tuesday was pretty rough, but it seemed to get better as the week has gone on and Wyatt got to make a couple of visits to school, so that helped out a lot. I am very lucky to have amazing family members, friends and co-workers who have been so supportive, understanding and prayerful for me during this transition. I'm happy to report that the babysitter said Wyatt has been great. It's so reassuring to see how good she is with him and know that he is getting plenty of attention.
Am I going to survive this? Of course.... Is it going to be tremendously hard? Definitely.... But I know that right now, everything is as it needs to be. On my way to work I heard two of my favorite songs back to back on the radio (accident- I think not!). One of them is Bring the Rain by Mercy Me. I LOVE this song and it is such a great reminder that everyday isn't going to be perfect and we are going to go through some "storms" in life, but God is so much greater than us and can help us through it.

Jesus, bring the rain"
A little smile to brighten everyone's day!

Back to School Blues.....
Well, it's finally here.... My last day at home with Wyatt before going back to school. I have dreaded this day the entire summer. For the past 11 weeks I have gotten to spend every day with this little guy and I'm having a hard time dealing with the fact that it's about to end... We are very lucky that Wyatt will be staying with a woman who's daughter went to my school for the past couple of years. She has two kids, but they are both in school and Wyatt will be the only kiddo that she keeps, so he will be sure to get plenty of attention. She also lives really close to school, I can go sometimes at lunch and could be there in no time at all if I needed to. She really is great, that's not the problem at all. The problem is that I am scared to death of missing out on moments with my little guy. What if he has some of his "firsts" and I'm not there to see it?? That would break my heart! Or what if he would rather be with the babysitter than at home?? (I know, I know... I'm being alittle paranoid right now, but I can't help it) I am glad that I work at a school and am off work by 4:00 and get plenty of breaks during the year, but right now that doesn't make this any easier. Maybe someday I will be a stay at home mom, but for now it's back to work. This may all seem alittle selfish or like I'm just feeling sorry for myself and well, that might just be the case! But the next few days (maybe weeks!) are going to be hard for me, so selfish or not, I'm asking that everyone say alittle prayer for Wyatt and me as we adjust to this new situation.

Wyatt Update
Today we went to the Dr. for Wyatt's 2 month check-up and shots. He did really well getting his shots, better than I expected. After talking with the Dr. about his reflux, she went ahead and prescribed Zantac for him. I'm not super excited about him being on a medicine like that while he is so little, but I am hopeful that it will help our lil guy feel better. He weighed 13 lbs and is 24 1/2 in. long. He was in the 75th % for weight and 90% for height, so he is growing just perfectly!
Our weekend road trip was a success! (the drive home was alittle rough, but I think he was just getting tired of his car seat) We had a great time visiting with Stephen and Amy and enjoyed being away foe a couple of days. Saturday, Aaron and Stephen got to catch a movie while Amy and I hit the outlet mall with Wyatt. Saturday night Aaron and I got to go to dinner and a show while Stephen and Amy kept Wyatt. Sunday we all went to lunch at the Landing, then we headed back home.

2 Months
Mr. Wyatt turned 2 months old this past Friday! It has been so fun to see how much he has changed. He is grinning and making the cute baby sounds alot more now. It melts our hearts to see him grin! He has also gotten into a better sleeping pattern and is only waking up once in the middle of the night to eat (and again at like 5:00, but at our house that's considered "morning time"!) We're still dealing with the reflux, but the rice cereal in his formula has seemed to help alot. We go back to the Dr. next week, so we'll see what they say.... Last week we went to Ada to have 2 month pictures taken. Annie and her son Jay also came. The boys are 4 months apart and we "attempted" to get some pictures of them together. Not sure how they will turn out, but we sure got a good laugh out of seeing them together! I can't wait until they are older enough to play. I'm sure some day they'll thank us for dressing them up alike and making them take pics together :)This weekend we are off on our first family "mini" vacation. Aaron is going to start grad school this fall at OSU! Yep, that's right O-S-U!!! My family had such a good influence on him ;) Anyways, we are going to Stillwater Friday morning so Aaron can meet his advisor, visit around campus and Aaron and Wyatt can have their first official trip to Eskimo Joes! After our stop in Stillwater, we're Branson bound to visit Aunt Amy and Uncle Stephen. I hope to do some shopping at the outlet mall and Saturday night Stephen and Amy are going to practice their babysitting skills (they have been soo great to us!) while Aaron and I go to a show. We are looking forward to a fun weekend get away! I'm sure I'll have some great pics to post later.

This one's for the girls!
This post is dedicated completely to my friends (don't worry, there will be more Wyatt posts soon!) After going to a cookout last night at one of my best friends house, I was reminded of just how lucky I am to have the friends that I do. From early elementary school to becoming a working adult, I've been blessed with some amazing women in my life. It's great to have people that I can depend on in any situation and that I can talk to about anything. To all of you- you are amazing!

I've especially been blessed with having 5 girls that have been there through my crazy college days, moving away for my first job, marrying my soul mate and having my first child. These girls are more than I could have ever asked for. Annie, Alicia, Jacobi, Tiffany and Stacey.... You have been a true God-send to me! I looked through old photo albums this morning and almost cried! We have had some amazing times! Hanging out in the dorms, Spring Break Road Trips, Formals, Exchanges, lake trips, our own apartments- the list could go on and on! We have all been through so much together. It's hard to believe that we all have "grown up" jobs, are married and some of us are mommy's! (Who would have ever pictured me and Annie pushing strollers through the mall and getting excited over how much we saved with our coupons on formula and diapers! haha...) I love that we have been able to be a part of all of these important events in each others lives. No matter how long we go without seeing each other, it's like we pick up right where we left off when we get together. I love you girls and am so grateful to have you in my life!
